No matter how you do it in this day and age, the best bet is to keep your overhead and debt low, live within your means, and sock money away whenever you can. Scraping together studio rent and stressing constantly eats into my ability to work. A place of my own, not to mention the equity would be worth the extra drive if I needed to head into the city.
