To me, that's the money shot. and then the single shots just sucked me right in to the writing so lush (your word) that I could practically hear your voice. This work appears to have a true soul. And then that brushy fog around it! I'm so glad that this is the way you spend your summer "vacation." Here's hoping you get the invitation soon!Nancy Natalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03325421420384484035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30832682.post-77145735611094317632012-09-16T18:55:18.366-04:002012-09-16T18:55:18.366-04:00Thank you, everyone.Thank you, everyone.Joanne Matterahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02564594823192456546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30832682.post-31024031592736740322012-09-16T11:45:41.978-04:002012-09-16T11:45:41.978-04:00Really loving the Black/White/Gray work, Joanne!Really loving the Black/White/Gray work, Joanne!Paul Behnkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02218607126073374220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30832682.post-46711770988807943702012-09-13T21:36:41.271-04:002012-09-13T21:36:41.271-04:00I love what is happening in this series Joanne. In the photo of the studio wall I can see your mind at work as you explore density, transparency, and a range of grays. My faves are those where the diamond hovers over the grid. Looking forward to seeing where you take this!Tamarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15820235952600662107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30832682.post-87604564781154417532012-09-13T19:32:22.452-04:002012-09-13T19:32:22.452-04:00Thank you for sharing this vibrant new series with...Thank you for sharing this vibrant new series with us! It smacks of kinetic energy and mark making and contrasts; a real burst out of some of your more subtle work. I am quite enjoying this foray into a different medium.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30832682.post-55313720276647163072012-09-13T16:10:48.769-04:002012-09-13T16:10:48.769-04:00Thanks for posting your in process work! I am outdoors a lot and the sketchbook and colored pencils go everywhere. When I worked in watercolor, I loved 300 LB hot press.
