I heard a radio interview with Howard Zinn yesterday on NPR. He told the story of dropping food over holland from an airplane at the end of World War 2. The dutch cut the tulip fields so that the flowers spelled out a massive "T H A N K Y O U" across the landscape. He was choking up as he told the story.
