Palin' in Comparison

.
Boy, did she ever land a big one: the #2 spot.

A heartbeat away. Whatever this anti-choice/pro-creationism/PTA president/beauty queen/hunter/governor has done politically pales in comparison to the state and national work that pro-choice women like these have done in all areas of government:

U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton; U.S. Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, both representing New York State, and both candidates for President, in 2008 and 1972 respectively

.

Michelle Obama, attorney, easily bringing as much experience to the White House as the Governor of Alaska; Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House
.

U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulsi of Maryland, above, and U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters of California

U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer, both of California
.
.
No McPain for the next four years--or ever

Not to mention Amy Goodman; not a politician, but someone who makes a difference. I dare say a "community organizer"!!

That was a low blow, wasn't it? Dissing community organizers. Thanks for bringing it, up VC.

Community organizers welcome here!

It was especially galling considering that her community at the time she was mayor was only twice the size of my high school whereas Obama's community was more populous, way more diverse had a lot of needs to address. Thanks for the shoutout to my SF homies DiFi, Barbara and Nancy (note typo in Boxer's name in photo caption). California Girls represent!

Typo fixed (thanks, Oriane). You keep looking out for your homegirls!

Thanks for this post, Joanne. Palin is too scary to even think about. I hope Obama/Biden's campaign contributions grew in direct proportion to her scariness. I just signed up to volunteer for Obama and hope his supporters will do whatever they can to get him elected.

Thanks for posting some SANITY here.
I don't know why people are so taken with her. Do they not think past her looks and the things she claims to have done?

Thanks, all. This will be my first and last Palin post. I'm wary of spending too much tme and attention on her and McCain--McPain. They've gotten too much coverage already. Now it's time to focus our efforts and attention on getting Obama elected.

And, of course, to cover art--which even on a good Democratic day doesn't get a whole lot of time or attention (or money).

Great post. Thanks. I've had enough of anti-women women and anti-human men.

Um, I'm flip flopping. I've decided to keep posting anti-McPain stuff--because whether it's serious or satirical, it points out how unprepared she is for the job, and just how uninformed she is in general. But since I want to keep the focus of this blog on art, the political stuff is at the bottom of the sidebar. Take a look.
