At The Montclair Art Museum
"Patterns, Systems, Structures: Abstraction in American Art," curated by Gail Stavitsky, is a thematic look at some of the work in its collection. My painting, "Cera 20," bottom right, hangs with Louise Nevelson, Jasper Johns and others in the Shelby Gallery, which features largely achromatic work. The exhibition is up through May 19, 2013. - Joanne Mattera
- My work is chromatically resonant, physically tangible, and compositionally reductive. I call it lush minimalism. But don't call me an "encaustic artist." While encaustic on panel is my primary means of expression, I approach artmaking in other mediums--acrylic on canvas, gouache on paper--in exactly the same way.

Poor Bubbles - he saw this post when he was looking for the Gorilla Girls.
Thank you! Yes it was at tragedy and yes he was talented. Unfortunately his problems overan his creativity. Perhaps all of this coverage is what is known as bread & circuses to distract the masses from the problems that are out there. I am hoping though that the government doesnt order a statue of him to be errected in every major city & force us to bow before his image. Whom the gods will destroy they first make mad.
