.Lee Krasner, Gaea, 1966, oil on canvas, at MoMA

Focusing on Miami for a month in December meant that much of what I saw in New York during that time remains in my digital files. For instance, I twice visited Abstract Expressionist New York at MoMA (up through April 25) and slipped into a beautiful Lee Krasner show at Robert Miller at the very beginning and very end of its run. I'd like to write more about what I saw, but now I'm getting ready for a solo in April in Atlanta. So except for Marketing Mondays, it's going to be more show than tell for the next couple of months. Here's a little taste of what I saw, with details:
Lee Krasner, Another Storm, 1963, oil on canvas; at the Robert Miller Gallery

Philip Guston, Painting, 1954, oil on canvas, at MoMA

Joan Mitchell, Ladybug, 1957, oil on canvas, at MoMA

Love these works by Krasner - she allways seems to get overlooked as people want to see Pollock's work
Beautiful post. Speaks for itself!
Thanks!
I'm loving the Lee!
All my faves in one post! Kudos.
And how about that "French
canvas with the tacks....
Pollock...my hero artist!
Thanks for the close-ups.
Thanks for the preview. I look forward to seeing the exhibit at MoMA soon.
Lee Krasner's work is unfortunately underrated.
Very bold striking patterns of abstract painting. I like the resemblance to some of Pollock's work, but with a bolder presence I believe. Many of the other works also administer their own influential style of beauty. Great set.
